What is IELTS?
Two types of organizations arrange this type of test:
- British Council
- Idp.
There are 4 modules in the IELTS test:
- Speaking
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
IELTS Academic
Speaking
The speaking test is divided into 3 sections/parts. The duration of this test is 11-14 minutes.
- Part -01) General questions (questions related to you and your life)
- Part-02) Cue-Card ( describing something for 2 minutes)
- Part-03) Topic related questions (related to cue-card)
Listening
The listening test is divided into 4 sections/parts. The duration of this test is 40 minutes.
- Conversation between 2 people: social context.
- A speech or talk with just one person: social context.
- Conversation between up to 4 people: educational or training context.
- A talk by one person on an academic subject.
Reading
The duration of this test is 1 hour.
- 2-3 passages are there in this test.
- The passages may be concluded from newspapers, magazines, books, etc.
- Make sure not to waste more than 20 minutes in a passage.
Writing
The writing test is divided into 2 sections/parts. The duration of this test is 1 hour.
Part-01
- Write over 150 words.
- Don't spend more than 20 minutes.
- Topics are bar charts, tables, pie charts, graphs, diagrams, and maps.
Part-02
- Write over 250 words
- Don't spend much time in part-01. Cause the remaining time will last for part-02.
- Topics are discussion, opinion, advantage/disadvantage, direct questions, and solutions.
